Comparing beskar alloys from different eras

Not all beskar is the same. I've learned this from handling enough of it.

Pre-Imperial beskar—the stuff from Purge
collections—is the purest. No Imperial refining markers, no alloy
compromises. Heavy, dense, almost black in shadow. The Armorer's favorite.

Imperial-era beskar is different. They mixed it with lesser metals to stretch
supplies. Still good—better than durasteel—but lacks the purity. Lighter,
brittle under sustained fire. You can spot it by the slightly silver sheen.

Modern beskar, what little exists, is reclaimed. Melted down from damaged
armor, re-forged by surviving smiths. Each piece carries the history of its
previous owner. Respect the metal. Remember where it came from.

My current set is mostly pre-Imperial. Some plates are
reclaimed. The helmet is original—my first, from the covert, from the
foundling who became me.

The grade matters. The history matters more.

This is the way.
